COVID Health & Safety at workshops

The Workshop

​

You will be working individually at your own bench space AROUND A SHARED TABLE, and your tutor will move around the room to demonstrate what to do at each stage.

Seating will be spaced out or facing away from each other.

If you are attending with someone from within your own household or bubble you can sit closer together.

Please follow the latest social distancing rules when travelling to, arriving, entering and leaving the building.

Windows/doors in the workshop will be kept open for extra ventilation.

The workshop and all tools are cleaned before and after each class.

 

Masks should be worn:

  •  When entering and leaving the building 

  • Throughout the workshop apart from when you are sat at your bench space.

  • When working closely with your tutor so, for example, when it is your turn to use the soldering torch. 

  • Your tutor will wear a clear face shield throughout the class so you can hear what is being said. 

 

Hand washing and Hand Gels:

  • We will be asking everyone to wash their hands when You arrive at the workshop 

  • Before using shared equipment

  • Before using the bathroom  

  • Hand gels will be available around the studio. Important, please do NOT use hand gel shortly before using your blow torch it is flammable! 

  • Hand washing facilities will be available in the room with disposable hand towels.

Equipment:

You will have your own set of hand tools at your bench space.

If you need to used shared equipment this will be cleaned between use.

Please bring an apron if you would like to wear one

Drinks and Refreshments 

Hot drinks ( teas and coffee) and water will be available, and these will be served by your tutor.

We are asking everyone to wash up their own mug/cup at the end of the class.

There is NO eating in the workshop, so please have a big breakfast or snack before coming to your class.

You can find some recommendations for places to have breakfast/lunch on the way. here are some great local places to try for food and drink.

You should not attend the workshop if you are unwell and show any of the symptoms or have a temperature.

The track and trace app is available to scan at the entrance to the workshop.

Please try to stay at your bench space as much as possible and be mindful of others when moving around the workshop.

At the end of the class, cleaning materials will be provided, and we are asking everyone to help by cleaning your hand tools at your bench space and washing up your own mug/cup. 

Please only bring what you need to the workshop i.e your jacket and small bag.

Everyone entering the workshop does so at their own risk and is agreeing to follow the guidelines as set out above to help keep everyone safe and happy whilst in the studio.
