Christmas is creeping closer, so come and spend a cosy morning in the workshop making a completely one-of-a-kind piece of jewellery. Whether you’re making something for yourself or secretly creating a very special Christmas present for someone you love, this is your chance to make a piece with a story behind it.

During this relaxed, hands-on workshop, you’ll learn the traditional jewellery-making technique of wax carving, used in the ancient process of lost wax casting. You’ll design, shape and engrave jeweller’s wax to create your very own pendant from scratch.
Perhaps you’ll make something with their initials, a little symbol that reminds you of them, or simply a shape you know they’ll love. You could even make something for yourself, because you deserve a little Christmas present too.
Once your wax pendant is finished, you’ll leave it with me ready to be cast by the casters here in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter. Each piece will be cast in recycled sterling silver as standard, then finished and polished by me back in the workshop. Your finished pendant and chain will then be posted out to you, ready to pop under the tree, or you can collect it from the workshop.
There’s something rather lovely about giving a gift that you’ve actually made yourself. A little piece of jewellery, made by your own hands, with all the wonky little details and personal touches that make it completely theirs.
A little more info
Your workshop ticket includes up to 3g of recycled sterling silver for your pendant.
Any silver above the 3g allowance will be invoiced after the workshop, before casting.
If you decide not to cast your wax model, I can return it to you instead.
You can upgrade your casting to 9ct recycled yellow gold or 18ct eco gold plating for an additional cost.
The postage charge at checkout covers the P&P for sending your finished cast piece back to you.
Please allow time after the workshop for casting and finishing before your piece is ready.
